Production process of industrial grade potassium persulfate: Currently, there are two main production processes for industrial grade potassium persulfate in China: one is to use traditional electrolysis method; Another method is to use wet method to produce high-purity single crystal products - polycrystalline products (i.e. NaCl).
(1) Electrolysis method: Electrolysis method is one of the important methods for producing single crystal type. This method involves placing metallic sodium into an electrolyte solution at high temperature and subjecting it to electricity to react, producing a mixture of hydrogen gas and cuprous chloride. The mixture is then filtered and washed to obtain a crude solution, which is then concentrated and crystallized to produce a single crystal product. The advantage of this method is that the equipment is simple and easy to operate, but the cost is high and the production cost is greatly affected by temperature changes.
(2) Wet preparation: Single crystal products are generally prepared by chemical precipitation method. The basic principle is to dissolve salts containing c2+in the aqueous phase and then add an appropriate amount of ammonia or ammonium salt to form soluble impurity ions, which precipitate into soluble complexes. The characteristics of this method are short process, low investment, high technical requirements, high energy consumption, and serious pollution.
