The use of potassium persulfate disinfectant in different places

update time:2022-04-21

When it comes to potassium bisulfate disinfectant, most people have heard of it because it is widely used. Its application areas include denture cleaning agents, swimming pool and hot spring disinfection, circuit board etchants, wastewater treatment, oxidation in electroplating and mining industries, organic synthesis, wood cleaning, cosmetic additives, household disinfection, etc. In these fields, the results of its oxidation treatment are obvious.

Potassium bisulfate is usually stable in the solid state. When the dry powder temperature is above 65 ℃, it easily decomposes and releases oxygen and sulfides. However, after decomposition in water, it releases oxygen and potassium sulfate without producing harmful substances. It has strong oxidation ability and high oxidation potential energy, which is higher than water quality improvers such as chloride, potassium permanganate, and hydrogen peroxide. It can oxidize chloride ions in aqueous solutions to organic acids, and oxidize alcohols, aldehydes, and other organic compounds to organic acids. Therefore, it is called "oxidation bound peroxide". Its applications in different places are as follows:

1. Disinfection of hospital wards and outpatient departments: For medical devices that are not afraid of corrosive substances and have certain corrosion resistance, potassium persulfate disinfectant can be used for disinfection, such as thermometers, tongue depressors, endoscopes, etc., with a concentration of about 2000mg/L, lasting for 30 minutes. For equipment with obvious pollution, it can be cleaned first, and then disinfected with 5000mg/L potassium bisulfate and a small amount of surfactant for 20 minutes. Hospital sewage is treated with specialized dosing equipment, and an appropriate amount is added at a ratio of 10g/T~15g/T for 60 minutes.

2. Surface disinfection of public environment objects: spray, wipe and other disinfection forms, 100mg/L~300mg/L, lasting for 20min.

3. Air disinfection in public places: use 3000mg/L concentration, spray 5ml/m3 for 30min.

4. Treatment and disinfection of drinking water: It can be used for disinfection of tap water or further treatment of drinking water, generally using 0.5mg/l~3mg/l, lasting for 5-10 minutes.

5. Tableware disinfection: Tableware and tea utensils can be cleaned with 200mg/L~1000mg/L potassium persulfate disinfectant, soaked and disinfected for 5-10 minutes. It can also be used together with detergents and other cleaning agents for dishwashing and disinfection. After disinfection, rinse with clean water.
